Project Managing over 70 Bridge, Highway Structures and Traffic Projects in Oxford (£7m)

Kennington Bridge Railway Safeguarding- Additional Props added to the East and West Piers

127 Consultancies Limited are currently Project Managing over 70 Structures and Civil Engineering Schemes in Oxfordshire working in collaboration with the County Council and their Contractor, valued at over £7million worth of fees.

Our main achievement has been to reduce the budget deficit from over £500,000 over a two-year period. This has been achieved by preparing detailed spreadsheets enabling all the individual tasks to be tracked over the lifetime of the project which is managed in ASTA.

The largest project is the Kennington Bridge Safeguarding which involves introducing additional props to the east and west piers which are located near a railway and stream. Railway possessions were obtained to undertake the work which was completed under the structure. We have been project managing this scheme for 2 years and we are currently on phase 5 of the works which involves high level strengthening and monitoring of the bridge. The bridge deck will eventually be replaced.

Expert Witness Advice – Drainage Report into Flooding at Property

We were commissioned to act as an Expert Witnesses for a resident who had experienced flooding at his property eight times over a six-year period. The local authority had undertaken a CCTV survey at the property and concluded that no structural damage had occurred to the surface water pipes. It was however not clear from the CCTV report how the surface water sewer was connected.

A site visit was undertaken at the property and the surface and foul water drainage traced, along with a detailed drainage report prepared for the Client.

The conclusion of the report was that the Client should be entitled to compensation because the highway gully was blocked up with leaves outside his property. Since the local authority had cleared the gully from blocked leaves no flooding had occurred at the property.
